The ever expanding studio

I really like to spend to be outdoors as much as possible. I have a table outside by studio that I work at when the weather is nice. Much to my dogs irritation this means they have to move off my studios porch as I go in and out to get the materials I need for my creations.

At one time my shop ,which I call the Shiva Shop because has statue of Shiva on the top, was just a roof over the hot tub. When the hot tub was removed, walls were constructed and recycled windows and a door were used to close in the area for a 12 by 12 shop. I started with one book shelf for supplies and a long bench. Now there are numerous shelves, three benches, and a desk. There are craft supplies of various kinds hidden in drawers, cans, baskets, etc.

When I started doing mosaics, I expanded into the cabin next door. Well actually, I have basketry supplies, all my extra tins, my suitcases for setting up at festivals, plus a rock tumbling set up in there. So am I not only going in and out of the Shiva Shop I am also in and out of the cabin.

Some might think a bigger shop is needed, but if you build it art supplies will come. I often open drawers in my studio and or I remember when I used that tool or supply. Might be time for some downsizing or at least seeing what all there is to play with in there.

This is a picture of my jewelry making shop in the woods behind my house. Outside it is the table where I like to hang out on a sunny day.
